Jenna Fischer has become best recognized for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. For this role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy as well as an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was attracted by her mother's worship services when she first started out.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her roots after wrapping The Office. The Off-Broadway show she starred in was the show Reasons to be Happy that was directed and written by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, as well as Fred Weller. She then starred in Steve Martin's latest show Meteor Shower. It was an absurd comedy piece starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey began an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to become wildly popular, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads over its first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She is the author of two books. The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide that recounts her experience through St. Louis to Hollywood and her journey to becoming a successful actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends who were there (co-authored with Angela Kinsey), which is a memoir of their best friendship as well as their work on The Office.
