As I was a mom with one child at my side and other children within the cradle worked 12 hours a day sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! We were getting close to completing, however it was still a long way off. The house would need lots of time as well as a passion to shop. Eventually I had more pieces that I could decide how to use them and outgrew the space. My home became a place in which I held open houses, where up to 1000 visitors could see the items on the first floor, and then purchase them. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. Apart from my successful business, I also grew our family. As a mom of a child I was able to strike the right equilibrium to start my own business as well as be a good mother. Growing Days was the obvious choice. My beautiful Nora came into the world in 2013 and was our fourth child. My business was going well but I was in need of a break. I made the decision to take some break from my antique furniture and slow down to remain at home with the children. This was just what I was looking for. It wasn't until a couple of months when the phones began to call. Many people called me for help about home improvement or decorating. These people had mostly been to my home during open houses that were held for furniture. After a while, I took on clients in my own way. Before long I had multiple accounts, as well as a house renovations business. If you had told me that my venture would end up being an idea for the DIY Network show, I would probably have thought you were crazy. It's fun to reflect to it.
