Aspen Ladd began her journey into combat sports at the teenager age. In addition to BJJ training as well, she was also trained in boxing, wrestling, and kickboxing. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie was able to finish the fight in just 16 seconds and finish Ladd and her winning streak. Yana Knitskaya was defeated in UFC 7 ESPN 7's 3rd round, lost to Randamie. She faced Norma Dumont as a substitute during her final fight against the UFC at UFC Fight Night 195. Her defeat was decided by unanimous decision.
